This gorgeous art piece was created while I was stepping into my journey of self-love, self-confidence, and genuinely restoring belief in myself. We are all familiar with unhealthy patterns of fulfilling socially constructed fantasies of others—expecting a magical partner who reads our mind and fulfills all our needs and wishes.
While I deeply believe in love, and in choosing and learning with the right partners over time, there is a foundation that will either hold or break the future of these relationships—and that foundation is the relationship with ourselves and how we treat ourselves.
Therefore, I created this poster as a self-love piece, during a time when I was once again learning how to love myself and express love and commitment to my dreams. I was learning how to embrace and work with my flaws and my ugly sides, while also celebrating my magic.
This is how the metaphor “Time to fly myself to the moon” was born. If I am not treating myself the way I wish my soulmate would, how can I even get there?
